Yeah, I found a 5' plant at a nursery in Ozark. Alabama, and am finding all kinds of contradictory information on line. It doesn't pup? Seeds produce a green, rather than red, plant? The corm can/cannot be divided to produce new plants? My curiousity is way ahead of my need, but I 'assume' from what I've read that when it finally goes to seed my only option for more red plants will be to chop up the corm and plant several chunks?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Thanks for the link. I'd read that back before I knew what a maurelii was, and forgotten it.
Did you ever try the corm chopping process on an ensete? I did it w/ an Orinoco. sorta by accident, and the broken off chunk has produced several pups. From what I can find on line, I expect to chop up the corm into something like 6" cubes, and see if I can get new plants. Possibly before it flowers? I don't know enough yet, but should have a year or so to work it out.

I promise this is last thread that I'll update today with the link to the Maurelii page in the wiki :)
