The Owner of Tigre Salvaje was alerted to this posting and let me know and I am shocked by what I see and read here.

The Owner has written to this person who originated the posting asking him where he got permissions to create and Appeal on his behalf and where he got the photographs [because these are the Owners photographs]. No such permissions have EVER been given for anyone to use them or to organise a collection like this.

I have been helping the Owner in marketing, real estate sales as well as moral and financial support, freely, along with another of his friends over in Bocas del Torro.

Please, please, please, do not send any moneys to the originating person. If you want to help and support the Owner, get in touch with him direct through the website.

His name is David Teichmann and his email address can be gotten from the Tigre Salvaje website on the Contact Us Page. Just copy and paste the email address and write to him. But don't expect any quick answers. Tigre Salvaje is a remote place and he only rarely gets to a computer to check his emails.

If you only knew what the Owner of Tigre Salvaje and his wife have been through you would appreciate just how reprehensible this is.

If you want conformation I can provide plenty.

BEWARE.... this is a Scam and one of the worst kinds

Thank you Chong, I really appreciate your help.

David and Vielka are truly wonderful people and what they have been doing trying to help several endangered species in this area of Panama from decimation by the ignorant locals is truly wonderful.

Can you imagine educated adults [apparently] thinking that Sea Turtle eggs, raided from fresh Sea Turtle nests, are going to help them with their erectile dysfunction :-( or that penises from monkeys does the same :-( ? Also, that educated Americans, who are supposedly animal lovers, can buy Red Backed Squirrel Monkey babies from street vendors knowing that the seller could only have gotten the animal by killing the parents AND, then trying to feed the babies just on fruits [when they are insectivores].

The scam artist "Josh' though was right in that David and Vielka do need help but that help should be directed to them and no one else. David has a Paypal account that anyone wishing to could donate monies but, I would strongly suggest, as an alternative to get in touch with him direct to see how else they can get funds to him.

Also, for everyone reading this, Tigre Salvaje needs exposure and their website details spreading far and wide. To everyone out there, this couple do need your help to spread the word of their good works, their situation and the situation in Panama. I have been trying to circulate to many of the Conservations Groups around the world and we even set up a Eco Blog called Ecowatch - www. ecowatch. ning. com [without the spaces] ~ so that we could build a membership to help people and organisations such as Davids.

Please, please, please, everyone, heads up, if you want to help David and Vielka then get in touch with them direct. I promise you, sincerely, you will not be wasting your time, effort nor any donations. They are very worthwhile.

One more thing..... honest everyone, then I'll get off my Soapbox.

I'm a retired Police Officer from the UK so have seen a few of these in my time.

What I would suggest to everyone, and especially in this economic crisis we are all facing, in cases of Appeals, really know who you are donating to. Josh provided you with all the information you needed to check the validity of his appeal. The name Tigre Salvaje is very unusual and anyone could have googled it and found the website. Having found the website woulda/shoulda seen the photographs and importantly, should have found the email address of the ACTUAL Owner, David Teichmann on the Contact Us page. A quick email to the Owner would have revealed the very real need but crucially would have revealed the scam for what it was, total illegal.

So, donor beware, do your homework and give, give, give but please, make sure its going to where you intend it to go.

Honest and respectable 'human beings' of which Josh has disqualified himself, do need help and those of us who have empathic interests in wildlife, conservation, etc, should be confident of doing good rather lining evil pockets.

Take care. Live long and Prosper :-)

Several members here noted the sudden disappearance of jpfloors last year. I believe he also owed money to some members for plants as well.
