Welcome to the board, Singh! Please be assured that we will cooperate whenever we can. We have read some articles regarding bananas of a researcher from India, named Dr. Chiranjit Parmar. Have you heard of him? He might be able to give you a lot of information.

Welcome Singh, we are lucky here to have people from all over the world who will happily share info on their bananas and other plants. I 'd love to hear more from India. Looking forward to hear more from you.

Dear Colleagues,

We have just collected some banana isolates for different states of the NE India. Locally, they have vernacular names but no record of scintific names. Please help me starting identification of these isolates with morphological characters. Which books or manuals are best for banana identification. I am posting pics in next message.

with regards,
Singh

If you have pictures of the blooms that would be helpful.

Welcome to the organization Singh!

I look forward to seeing your pictures. In my Botany classes we never "keyed" bananas, and I have been learning them on my own.

Welcome once again Singh!:2239:
