After a very cold, true zone 7a winter, I was a little bit amazed to see these two Musa returning this early. Heck, I was amazed to see Musa yunannensis returning at all! Not sure why, but this one just continues to amaze me. I notice it first, then decided to go digging around in the itinerans mat.

Frank,

Congrats on you var. itinerans making it through the winter.

If memory serves me correctly, you told me you think that is what I have. I overwintered mine in a pot and moved it in and out of the garage as temps dictated this winter and at all times it kept at least one green leaf. I still have it in a pot and it has been outside continuously for well over a month now. I will likely keep it in its pot as it really seems to like to run. I really need it in a bigger pot as I just put it in a 3 gallon for overwintering purposes.

Looks very promising Frank!
Do you remember what the source of these plants were for you?
Kind regards,
Remko.
