These are the two banana pups I picked up from Home Depot on a sales rack with no ID. They were really cheap at $3.33 each and intended as an indoor plant. They have red speckles on the leaves and and faded reddish tint to the base of the pseudo stem. Anyone have an idea what these might be?

Really hard to say at that age. So many look like it. I have seen Hi-color Minis at HD in the past. But until it gets size and preferably a flower, that's just an educated guess.

I bought two exactly like them from HD last year. I had the manager check with the vendor and they said Dwarf Cavendish.

It's only on young plants, too - they grow out of being variegated like that.

I walked into another HD that had the same plants but this time they had growers tags on them; "Super Dwarf Bananas" Musa acuminata 'Novak' which I believe are also refered to as Dwarf Cavendish.

Also picked up a Musa Sumatrana Zebrina Rojo while I was there!!! Couldn't resist it was just too cool looking!:woohoonaner:
