Hey everyone, I'm Bryan, I'm new here. Just got back into growing bananas after a few years off. I used to have two for years when I was younger, but gave them up to a local college greenhouse when I went to college. I'm currently 23 and live in St. Louis, MO where I am a graduate optometry student at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

I decided that since I have enough space here and a south-facing window that I'd get some more bananas. I found a site on the internet (Banana Plants and Banana Trees (http://www.banana-plants.com)) and ordered a super dwarf cavendish and an ice cream banana. I haven't had them very long right now, so they're still pretty small. I'm excited to see them really take off in a month or two.

Welcome to the org. I'm sur you'll find whatever info you need to get back in to bananas soon. I had not had any in 10 years and now have several dozen plants. It gets that way here. Good luck.

Yeah, believe me, if I had the space, I'd definitely have a bunch more! It's like an addiction. LOL. Unfortunately (banana-wise, that is), I'll be doing clinical rotations in a few years and it would be hard to find someone to take care of them while I'm gone. I'm pretty sure I can find someone to take care of two, but 10? Probably not. Once I settle down more, I'll definitely be getting into cultivation much more heavily than I am currently capable of. Just having them around makes me happy, though.

Well, right now it's in a 7 gallon (apparently they're not really 7 gallons, but that's the 'rating') pot. I'm planning on keeping it indoors, so hopefully it does not get much past 10 feet.
