My plants have been good all winter inside each are about 5 ft tall and have 3 to 4 leaves and getting new ones all the time. For some reason about 2 ft up on one plant I have a brown spot about 5 inches long and the plant is starting to lean. I supported my plant and the area seams to get worse as days go by, but the plant look good otherwisw. I decided to cut the rot out and the palnt is still growing but needs to be suppoted by a stick or it will fall down, any ideas why and did I do the correct thing or should I just cut it off at that level and let it restart growing??

It can be "normal". It also normal to remove it. If it looks brown and mushy, it need to go.

Yep its brown in color and muschy feeling to the touch. Not sure why but I did cut it out and being the trunk is not huge it will not support the weight of the leaves it has. I am going to support it and hope for the best.

That's all you can do.
