I'm just another tropical fruits lovers, especially bananas lover. and I feel very glad to share my experiences with everybody in this site. I just got into this organization recently and, although I'm a very busy person and almost have no time to check on my computer, I feel that we all share the same passion for nature, and we know how to appreciate those wonderful gifts that we receive from God. Bananas, like all other fruits, are actually our gifts from paradise, and in my believe, the real cure for all diseases if we use them properly.
Once again, I'm very glad about sharing my passion with all the members of this organization. I'll always be willing to contribute in any way I can with this site with my experience and knowledge of tropical fruits whenever I'm allowed on my very short time.
Greetings to everybody from your new friend.
Severino.

Thanks everybody for your reply. I wish you could all live in my area ,South Florida, and have no problems with your banana trees and the cold weather. I feel paradise here for all tropical fruits.
Thanks for your warmed welcome. Just let me know if there's something that I could help you with.

Welcome Severino. I just read on another thread that the inside of the banana peel could cure skin rashes. I've heard that if you drink too much alcohol that if you eat a banana before you go to sleep it will stop a hangover. So do you have any medismal uses to recommend? What bananas are you growing?

Michael;
I have heard that banana is the best of all fruits to be eaten before going to bed at night (don't know why). I also heard many years ago in my native country that you should not drink and eat bananas while drinking, or after finishing drinking. Never knew the reason for that, and never did it myself either. But about stopping the hangover, I really don't know. I suggest you to try it yourself whenever you have the opportunity, and you'll know. It's a good idea after all. I'll do it myself too when I have a chance. Most of these things are only "superstitions"; but we'll see.....
I used to have a few banana trees in the past (Mysore, Raja Puri, Dwarf Red, Dwarf Cavandish, Ice Cream, Apple, Nawua, etc), but I just had a house with a small backyard, and eventually, got rid of them. Now me and my wife recently bought an acre in the Homestead area, south from Miami, and we are thinkning about to start a new collection again. We are starting with the FHIA new hybrids. They promise to be worderful for our area. Feel free to contact me if we could be of any help.
Best regards

Wow I guess they are really good for many ills. This site talks about the hangover remedy and adds.
"We take bananas for granted, yet they help with depression, heart disease, bone health, cramps and so much more."
Musa Prozac?
Its at this site:

Sounds like you have lots of room now Severino. And an excellent climate. You and Mrs. Vicky gonna have your own little paradise.
