Hi!!
My name is Connie I live in South Florida (Pembroke Pines).....
I am trying to identify my banana plant.....I'm hoping that it's not an ornamental!!! I'm afraid that it is...
it's maroon and green....

Hi Connie, Welcome to Bananas.org! By all means, please post a photo of your banana. Simply being maroon and green doesn't make it an ornamental. There are many, many edible varieties having these colors. Keep you chin up, even if it is an ornamental, you're in the right place to do something about it. :ha:

Hey! I moved here from Orlando around 2 or 3 years ago...we love it here!! It's very beautiful!

Here are some pictures of my banana plants....the little one I got from walmart....the tag said that the banana's are desert and they grow to 6 or 7 inches....but it was so sickly when I got her.....she's getting much better now......now, the bigger one...I have no clue what kind it is.....I'm hoping that it isn't an ornamental one... :( Thanks for your help!

That means no bananas from this plant.....well, at least the smaller one may have some....lol....thanks all! (oh, my plants made it through the cold spell!!! I also have crotons, all kinds of palms, roses and vairous other kinds that I don't know the name of...lol.....) I moved to South Florida from Orlando.....and I can't believe how easy it is to grow plants in South Florida!!!!! In Orlando, everything died.....I love plants... :)
