Hey all,
Sorry I have not been posting much on here as of late, but it has been one busy past couple of months for me. Hope all is well, and staying warm. I received my email from Jared this evening and read all the things that I have been missing and it has really reinspired me to get back on here and spend more time with the people I truly enjoy.
I have taken a new position at work and boy has it been hectic trying to be trained in a new job. At my age, it ain't easy to train me!!!
Hope to hear from all of you and look forward to the 2009 excitement on Bananas.org, as well as a new growing season!!!
Take care and keep in touch...

Hi Randy! Thanks for the nice post!
We will all have times when life takes us away from the board, but the board will always be here for us to return to. Like an old friend I guess.
Hope all is well and lets all hope for a good new year.

Sometimes something has to give with the demands on our time.
Ditto on what buzzwinder said :ha:

Glad you're back Randy , was wondering where you'd been. I went through the same thing last year leaving the (crappy) office to go back and have to work a bit harder but, less stress. Hope the same is true for you. Talk soon, Bob

Bob,
thanks,,, I am going in the other direction... Into more office (crappy) work with more stress, but less physical labor. Kinda making my head spin right now with the added responsiblities, but in the long run, I believe it will be better... Look forward to seeing you around...

Funny, Randy, I was just thinking about you yesterday. I was looking at my brown banana plants outdoors here in zone 9 and thankful I don't need to do all the digging you do! :)
Thanks for dropping by!

Hey Harvey,
Yeah, I did dig some of the nanners, but I did leave a few out that are really being tested this winter. Hit a low of 7.8F two days ago and temps finally got above freezing today for the first time in about 60 hours. At least it was a dry cold. Hopefully we are back to normal temps for this time of year with days in the 50's and lows in the lower 30's.

Hey Y'all,
Randy, good to hear from you. When I left aerospace engineering, it was a real rocky road learning new new jobs in the electronics technology buisness. Turned out pretty good though, for me - got lucky. Training for new stuff is a total pain in the butt - I know. The age thing is a total uphill thing - woof.
Best of luck to you guy.

Yup. Went from management to nursing while in I was in my late 50's. Doable but lots of hard work. Well worth it though.

Hey Mark,
Thanks... Hate to say, but the cold got to them before I was able to bring indoors. The corms should be fine, but will have to try again this coming summer... I have gotten a few more ornamental nanners to work with this year. Man, I can't wait for warm weather!!! Take care of yourself and keep in touch...
