jmo....but if you plant too many in a pot together they will compete and only the strongest will survive. if you pot them sepertly you have a better chance of the majority surviving.

They wont be combining anytime soon. But you can plant them like that if the pot is large enough and you provide enough nutrients. I would advise against it though unless its a very large pot.

6 inch apart is not wide enough. You'll have a problem untangling the roots in less than a year.

Well you can look over to the left at my avatar pic. and see the problem I had last summer planting 2.5 to 3ft. apart. There's more than bananas in there but we quickly saw our mistake. The nanas suffered and we didn't get to enjoy the fullness of what they could have become had they had more room to stretch.

Here's what you'll going to have if you have an ample space in between your ananas

benny they looke great!!! i can almost taste them.
Great pics Benny! A little light went on when I saw them and am thinking of putting my 10 year potted plumeria in the garden with the bananas this year and will try to overwinter next year using the"bigdog" method under the house with some of my bananas since I let it go dormant any way. Now that I've freed up 12 sq ft of floorspace I have room for...................?

nice!
you can plant 2/3 velutinas in a large pot but not more, otherwise they wont grow that hard..

Oh, man! that banana is not mine.
I took that picture during a tour while vacationing in Hawaii last year.
I hope that's mine.
Sorry guys!
I am just trying to show just j how a banana can look like if it is planted with enough room to grow its roots.
