Hi Suzzi! I am growing Carissa spinarum and very interested in having Carissa edulis. I could probably get plants started from some bush-ripened fruit that has been picked and then dried with the seeds intact.

Kenya ... once home to those very ancient peoples whom the primitive Greeks named Cretians, and then also mis-named the island after them as well. Kenya is an honored place in the history of humankind.

hi richard.did not know all that ifo about my country. great to know. are the berries you grow in fruitnow. we live on a 400 acre piece of land and we pick ours from the forest. how do i grow them at home as part of my landscape? can i grow from seed?

Suzzi, you can either grow them from seed or make rootings from semi-hardwood cuttings. Since you are on a farm, perhaps you have some rooting hormone for this?
Once you have some growing, I would plant them as a row of bushes about 1 to 2 meters apart. Control the size by thinning out branches instead of trimming as a hedge.
Are the wild plants in your area bush-like or more tree-like?
By the way, Carissa edulis and Carissa spinarum are some of the most nutritious fruits in the world!
