I have a Mexican feather grass in my yard. It was doing great until my dog decided to make a bed out of it. It is currently lying nice and flat and though its been more than a month since my dog was in it it won't stand back up. Will tying it up for a while make it stand or is there a different solution?

You can also cut it right back, burn the stump, and wait until next season. That will make it about twice as vigorous.
Although, I must say that I think replacing it with more bananas is a sterling idea.

Not a bad idea!
What do you mean burn it? what does that help with?

If it is what I think it is, namely a type of Pampas grass, burning it returns the nutrients of the current blades to the soil, unclogs the center of the clump, and reinvigorates the rootstock. Basically, it makes it come back twice as strong.
Pampas grass down here, when it's in personal collections and not just growing on the roadside, gets this treatment yearly as part of the New-Year's Renewal Burns. We torch up the city's Eucalyptus trees too.
