On the 9th day of Christmas-i took some advice about my rotting Praying Hands and i started to strip the rotted leaves off and the whole plant snapped off way down to the bottom. (Please see last two pics i posted titled >i tried<)!

I'm no expert, but looking at your pics, it looks like a clean break (no rot). The corm is apparently healthy, let it go dormant or semi dormant for the rest of the winter, then in the spring treat it as normal, it should continue to grow, though slowly over the winter and by the time spring arrives you should have a shorter but healthy nanner. When spring comes, reintroduce to full sun light gradually.:bananas_b

Hope one of the experts pipes up!:bananas_b

Actually, that's probably a good thing! You have no rot now and it will certainly grow back from the pstem you have left. Believe it or not, it is healthier now than before.
Hard pill to swallow, isn't it? I would not water it for a month, at least. I have cut them back to the corm and they came right back up in a week. Keep in mind that it's winter now, so don't expect it to grow fast, but you did the right thing. Since there are no leaves, it will not require more water for quite awhile.
