View Full Version : Hi!
Hi all --
This is such a cool site! I found it looking for info on cacao trees -- I've never grown bananas, but I want to.... Are they grown from seeds? Is it possible to grow bananas in Northern Washington State, USA? What kind of trees have been grown here? Do all of them have to go indoors in winter?:woohoonaner:

Hello SJ,
Welcome to the org.!
Yes, there are bananas growing in WA state. Although mostly are considered non-edible, there are some of us that are growing edible varieties. There are certain protection that we need to do for them in the winter, though. The Basjoo can take our winters here, but they need to be protected from being subjected to too much rain.
