I'm so new to growing bananas, but really want a couple in my yard to go with some sago palms.

I have a couple questions...Is it better to get banana plants in the spring or can I get them now and overwinter them??...I'm in zone 8 and will keep them in the greenhouse over winter.

Which ones would be best to grow that produce edible bananas here??

Thanks for any help...meplant

Probably cheaper now, and as long as you have a greenhouse and they don't freeze during shipping, go for it.

Hi,

if you do want hardy fruit bananas, then the Helen's Hybrid will be the best. Plant them only in spring out.

Best wishes

Just a few weeks ago I ordered 2 T.Culture nannas. They are 8 & 4 inches high & in a west facing window doing fine.
