Just when some were starting to think it was all over - us old hands knew better and are proved right again! Hurricane Paloma is forcast to cross right over poor Cuba as a cat 2 or 3 after zooming over the Cayman Islands. Waterlogged Haiti will get some more rain as they are in the eastern quadrant - like they need that too.

This year has been strange, as usually most of the hurricanes cross Barbados, Grenada or the Netherlands Antilles. This year many of them have originated off our shores and gone on to be a nuisance to our neighbours.

I'm sure nobody would mind if the season ended early this year!

Thanks Stumpy - but we will be fine as we are far outside the zone. I just feel for our neighbours who have nothing in the best of times! Makes me feel humble!

Glad to hear that. Sounds like you've had your share of rain and wind this year.

Hey Cassie;
Hurricanes are like a 1000 pound gorilla.
Where dose it sleep?
Anywhere it wants to!
We got our fair share in Florida several years ago and the plants are just now getting back to normal. We'll sea what next year brings.
May the rain be gentle, the wind light and the sun bright.

Yes Daen - it strengthened even more!! But down to a tropical storm now. I was listening to Radio Cayman yesterday and Cayman Brac took a direct hit and is badly damaged, Little Cayman got off lightly by comparison. No news from Cuba yet.

But some of the tracks show it curving round to poor old Haiti again!

Might even come our way and we do have a lot of overcast at the moment. Heyho! never a dull moment and a good excuse for yet another hurricane party (not that we need an excuse!!). We are in the middle of an excellent 3 day jazz festival on the beach - sat in the sand until midnight last night listening and drinking rum.
