Cold Venus Flytraps ready for thier winters sleep.

Well if any of you are into carnivorous plants im glad to say that i have had great success with my Venus flytraps this past summer, and as of result my plants are robust and healthy, now that dormancy is soon a factor i soon must start packing them into the greenhouse in a bowl of water throughout the winter, also be aware that the water shouldn't freeze since they will die from any exposure of Freezing Temperatures.

Heres some summer Pictures:

Wow, those look great! I don't know much about growing venus fly traps, but I believe they need a winter dormant period to grow healthy. What other plants are you growing?

Venus fly traps are perennials. They are native in Zone 6b NJ (Pine Barrens) so they can take deep freezes. I would bet they are much hardier than the ones from FL even though they are the same species.

Great bunch of plants wayne! I had a great collection like that years ago till I decided to settle down, buy a house ,join the rat race etc. Now I'm back in with a vengence, mostly bananas palms edible tropicals and I've never gone away from a huge organic vegetable garden. Keep it up.
