I'm kind of wondering what the interest would be in a book review foum. I've read 3 in the past few months since joining here. My pride and joy being an autographed copy of "Conquest of the Tropics" witten in 1914 as a tribute to the fairly new and successful United Fruit Company. My wife bought this for me 10 years ago for 25 cents at a garage sale. I'm currently reading the just published "Banana -the Fate of the Fruit That Changed the World" ,the author of which I have a suspicion could be one of our members. At least having read up to page 40 I know he has refered to a Jon who runs a nursery in San Diego that sells 2 dozen kinds of bananas (hmmm?) . This initialy seems to be the book I wish I'd done the research and had written, so far it's that good. Now I have some idea of the difference between Acuminata and Balbisiana when I read about them here. I went a little crazy last week and ordered 6 others that I'll be reading this winter and I know from PM'ing a couple of members that they share the same reading interests. What do you think?

Yes Bob, Dan is a member here and him and I are actually hashing out a contest coming soon to a banana forum near you. The prizes will be - guess what? Signed copies of his book!
I think your suggestion is a very good suggestion. What would be a better title for this new forum? "Banana Books" or "Banana Books and Reading Material", or what?

BTW, Dan's account is "BananaBook":
Bananas.org - View Profile: bananabook (http://www.bananas.org/member-bananabook.html)
He registered back in February but has just been watching from the sidelines as you can see, he has yet to make an intro post. I'm sure he will soon though :)

I would include all reading material. The more the merrier.
