Welcome jbvrm!

The Dwarf Cavendish is probably the most forgiving banana plant there is. Where are you located?

Welcome jbvrm! The 1st plant is always the beginning, with the .org, you will stop counting after awhile though...

Thank you for the warm welcomes. I need a like help with where and how to plant it. I don't have a lot room. Someone told me that I can plant it in a pot. Is that true. How big of a pot do I need? The container it is in right now is a 5 gallon pot it has 4 trunks about 3 1/2 - 4 inches round with two small pups. How do I divide them safely? Help!

I'll leave this one to the experts. I haven't had the pleasure of separating pups from moms yet. They will tell you exactly how it's done and what sized pots, etc. But since you did not include your zone information, they will surely want to know this first. It makes a difference!

I believe I am in zone 9. I live in Southern California. :0489:

Separating pups is easy, however I did kill my first one or two.
I found a small straight shovel to work the best, cut straight down beside the mother plant and remove the corm. The corm should have a few roots. Sword spikes are more vigorous growers and it is best to let them grow a few good leaves before separating. LOL
