I was given 2 small banana plants...One was about 18" tall with 2 leaves and the other had no leaves...I put them in pots with good drainage...The leaves got real saggy and changed color to brown, so I cut them off that made the plant 12" tall...The other one is, well, not showing any color at all.

I got them about 2 weeks ago.

I have NO idea what kind they are, just that they came from SC and grew bananas, sorry.

Do you think they are ok or ??...Should I fertilize them??...I was going to replant them with new soil that I added more perlite too.

Not sure what to do...They did have pretty good roots on them.

Thanks for helping a new nanna grower :)

Hello meplant! Welcome to the org.

It would be very difficult to know what your plants' problems are without any picture, or more so, determine what kind of bananas they are. Please insert some pictures with your posts.

Also, it's nice to have another Washingtonian in the org. We're about even in numbers with Oregonians, but much less than the folks in BC.

One of the members in BC has suggested that we have a PNW meet in the near future, possibly late Spring or early Summer. Keep tuned, and well try to decide on a venue and date, with hopefully most of the people in the PNW, and others from beyond, would be attending.
