Hello I only have a few days in town and my next return home will be in winter I have two choices for storing my plants, In a attached garage or under a house.I line in N.c. 1 mile from the ocean. When I dig the plants up and wash the dirt off should I wrap them In a sheet or newspaper or just throw em in the garage.previously I would just let them die to the ground and they would come back but now I have many new kinds and would rather try to winter over just not sure what to do. any help would greatly be appreciated Thanks.

Hey dude, Funny, I logged in for just the same reason. I live in Virginia Beach and I want to dig some big trees up to store. I was told to dig them up and wrap the root ball in saran wrap, then just store them in a cool/cold place that is safe from freezing. I personally think attic or attached garage would be best but supposedly under the house is fine too. I wanted to get more input in this forum, so hopefully we'll hear from a few veterans.

Hi guys, there are many threads about this specific topic. Just do a search for "overwintering" and you will find enough to read for the weekend.
