See if you find out the actual cold tolerance of Bambusa oldhamii.

Thanks

The ABS species list shows a col tolerance of 21/-6. I would guess that it may be at least that low unless they encounter cold and dry conditions...with wind.

We are on the cusp of that every year. It dies down to the ground but comes back each Spring.

I've always wanted a 20ft clumping bamboo that is rock solid in my zone.

Hopefully a new tall clumping bamboo for zone 6 will be imported from China this year!

Scot,

I'll assume that you know that Walking Stick Bamboo is a runner......Qiongzhuea tumidissinoda is not on the auction list. If there are any vendors (I doubt there will be, but you never know).

B. chungii (Blue) is in the member's auction and I am the current bid leader and I intend to win this bad boy. Once I have enough for a division, we can talk. A 5 gallon can size usually runs about 125-150 bucks for this one.

There is no B. lako (Black). I have a small one that will have to be divided in 2010. You'll probably find one before that. A 5 gallon can size usually runs around 75 to 100 bucks.

I am planning a trip to a place in Sebastopol early next year. They may have any or all of these in small divisions. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks.
