Hi, Just moved to a new (new to us) house that has a dozen or so banana trees and a couple just started producing. I have no idea what kind they are so I'll probably be posting pics later. I've already learned a few things from the site and will be reading more. Always liked banana trees and bananas so now I get to learn about them. Will be getting the kids involved too since they'll be eating most of them. (if they're edible) Probably are as there's also a grapefruit tree and an orange tree here. I'll be getting some chickens for eggs soon so I've almost got breakfast covered. This property seems to have real good soil for this area. (central Florida) It's actually dirt, not sand, with plenty of worms. We'll be growing lots of things here including some other varieties of bananas. Always moist too due to a wet weather creek running across the property. Some of the banana trees are actually in the creek so I'll be moving them up and out a bit to better draining soil and a little more sun. Thanks in advance for any info. John:bananas_b
