Jarred,

With all of the news around Panama disease, prices, availability, and other voices that are concerned with the number one exported fruit in the world, the number one fruit eaten in nearly every country, and one of the highest interest set of threads in this forum, I would like to suggest a new forum restricted to the economics of bananas around the world. Producers, economists, consumers, transporters, wholesalers all would have input and are concerned in this area. Many times, the topics today bring in the economics of this industry and may be inappropriate for the home gardener. It seems to me that this may be a lively forum as well, as these topics are discussed. All rules regarding behavior would be enforced, of course.

Whaddyathink?

This is the link to the new forum, and you can access it of course through the homepage and various links on the site:
Banana Economics Forum - Bananas.org (http://www.bananas.org/f300/)
I'm sure there are plenty of threads that would have a more appropriate home now that we have this category, so if you see some that should be moved, please everyone, send me or one of our fantastic moderators the links and we'll be happy to move them to the better location. This would help other people more easily find threads of importance in the future.
