Pomegranate in camarillo
10-12-2008, 03:33 AM
I have a pomegranate tree that was given to me by John Chater and he said it was a custom tree he named after his wife. DOSE any one know that name?
And can I dig it up and move it when I move or will that kill it?
I am new to all this so any help would be good help.
It started out about a foot tall and now it is about 7 feet tall, it has been in the ground for ten years.
I also made one big mistake and that is its still in the 5 gallon pot that John gave it to me in.
This tree means a lot to me because it was given by John.
Thanks for any and all help.

Welcome aboard!
Here's a couple good pomegranate threads:

Each thread has plenty of other good links to other pages on the web. Good luck with your search but I have a feeling one of the resident pomegranate experts will chime in for you. Besides the ones you see in those threads, another resident pomegranate expert is Ariel (http://www.bananas.org/member-ariel023.html) but he does not get the chance to stop by our forum often. Perhaps if you PM him he may know (if none of the regulars remember the name of your tree, that is).

i think u should take some cuttings and root them and have it in a large container.... that way u will have a exact replica as the mother....but u probably can take it out in a rootball and transplant it....just take the necessary steps to insure it doesn't die...like ideal conditions that it will regenerate its roots :D

Just grab a ripe fruit. You will get nearly 100% germination and they grow pretty fast.

I posted some videos in the Tiki Hut section of the forum but thought I'd add them to this thread as well. Wonder what every happened to the person from Camarillo that started this thread.
