Thanks for helping to sponsor the site. Hope you will also have some banana plants in your collection next spring. (As if I need more, right???)

We determined that we will be running a few contests and giveaways, starting right now!
I went and visited with John, among a few tons of other things, John produces (along with the help of a few million worms) a wonderful vermicompost - its like soil basically but its entirely rich and fortified with nutrients, its a wonderful media to top dress your plants with. John will be giving away bags for free to any local member of ours that stops by. Bring your truck though if you want some great fruit trees, or plants for your veggie garden. Also make some space in your vegetable drawer in your fridge, he has an on-site farmers market with fresh fruits and veggies, some from Sunkist, and other fruit brokers, etc., as well as much of the stock is grown locally and even on premises.
So as a thanks for stopping by, John will hand you a free bag of the vermicompost and also show you how its made. John also has a patent for an above ground container made from fabric, a wonderful product for many many reasons... check them out (http://millermackenzie.com/jackpots.html) also while you are there. The solar panel array is extremely commendable and the wind turbines that are coming soon will certainly be as well.
Any out of towners that would like to try a bag of the vermicompost, if you are willing to pay for the shipping charges, send John a private message with your address and he will be glad to set it up with you and get some into your hands. Thats capped at the first five people to respond, though, for now at least.
We have a great guessing game coming up so subscribe to the contest forum (http://www.bananas.org/subscription.php?do=addsubscription&f=211) if you have not subscribed to it yet, this way you'll instantly get the notice of the new contest as soon as it's live. Prizes will be real live banana plants shipped to your doorstep (certain geographic limitations will apply, of course).
John also does in-home consulting, so if you are local and want to create that dream vegetable garden, he would be a great liaison to assist with that.
Thats enough from me for now, thank John for the freebies and upcoming contests, and please if you are within driving distance, head on over and check them out!
