I have been looking to purchase a Saba and Orinoco but I can't find them anywhere. eBay has a few auctions, but most of the time the plants are either very small or a little larger than I'd like. I was able to get a nice sized 'Praying Hands' yesterday off eBay, but I'm having trouble finding the Saba or Orinoco. I also would like to find a reputable store to purchase from, no one sells bananas here locally (or at least no one who knows what they are).

I assume all Saba's are created equal? Is this eBay auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/LIVE-PLANTS-MUSA-FILIPINO-SABA-EDIBLE-BANANA_W0QQitemZ350097784133QQihZ022QQ) the traditional Saba so many folks speak highly of?

Thanks
-John

I would purchase those bananas from guys here instead of anywhere else. You should be able to get both of the bananas from members here. Then, you'll be guaranteed that what you buy is the real thing.

Thanks, so if I want to purchase from folks here (probably a good time of year too since it's time to overwinter in a lot of places) - should I just make a "want" request in the seller forum?

You can do that or you can go directly to the sites listed above and purchase.

JCDerrick,
I have had GREAT success with the folks on this board. If I were you, I would do as you mentioned and post a "want ad". You should not have any problem locating what you are looking for. If for some reason you have trouble, email me and I will see if I can help. Another place online that is good is...

Welcome to Going Bananas of Homestead, Florida! (http://www.going-bananas.com/)

When I am in San Diego, I like to buy from Jon, its a great chance to see what the plants should look like and he always has bananas ripe to try.
