If you have the room, yes - you need to heat the space at least 60°F.
Welcome and good luck.

I use insecticidal soaps against the nasty little red bugs I get occasionlly. Kills 'em dead.
You, being in the states, can probably buy a brand called "Safer's" at WalMart; it's what I swore by when I lived in Canada.

Sevin has been around so long that many insects have developed a resistance to it. Also, if it doesn't say chiggers on the label, it probably won't kill them. Further, the breeding cycle is 5 days. One application isn't going to do it.
Safer is an expensive way to use insecticidal soap. Two drops of conventional dish soap in a quart of water is the equivalent.
Welcome to the site!

See, and that's what I use now, although when I was using Safers it was available as a concentrate and much cheaper. Be sure to use unscented dish soap, though. My nanners didn't like lemon-lime at all.

Welcome to the board Joseph! Everyone here seems to have some sort of 'naner fever too:ha:
Welcome Joseph, I'm growing bananas in Jersey as well. Like lorax and Richard ,I used Safers insecticidal soap when I got the inevitable invasion of spider mites and one bug I couldn't identify on some of my plants. It worked like a charm. Good luck.
