No pups out of any of them. Next year they'll go in the ground. Would i container them again? no. Too much watering, forgetting to fertilize. I do like being able to move them, but being in the ground has too many advantages.

Think there is one or two Basjoos in the mix, mostly Sikks...

My son also is bigger :)

I also have mine growing in pots. They have produced three Dwarf Musa and
three Siam Ruby. Mine are in 12" pots. I do know plants will produce off sets and runners when they are slightly rootbound. When pots are too large plants will produce more roots rather than increase growth or pup. Also there is risk of root damage because while the surface seems dry, below may be too wet. If your plants seem to be growing too slow, try taking one out of it's pot and
make sure the roots are healthy. Good Luck!!!

i grow all my Bananas in pots the really big ones are set with pot in the ground that way the heat doesn't penetrate the root zone but for most of you heats not a problem like it is for those of us trying to make the desert bloom LOL also in the fall when the temps. dip below 55˚ i can pull them and bring them inside i have 23ft ceilings i just put them under plant lights no good sunny windows here in NV they build are houses like caves LOL what i wouldn't give for just one big old window! the draw back is so far I've not ever had any pups but most of my Plants are young so time will tell. :waving: nice pics thanks!

Hi Frank...fellow cheesehead/banana head! What a diff 3 months can make temp wise.
What kind of nannas are those? I like the red coloring in them. It is much better to plant inground in summer. They grow faster & you don't have to water so often.
As long as you have high enough ceiling for growing in winter. Or you can put them to sleep and have no growth.
This is my 3rd yr of wintering my nannas - the Ice Creams are over 7ft (from soil) so I'm hoping for flowers next summer. Wanna race??? :)

Those are musa sikkmensis... They are currently still in those containers and sitting in the basement, covered (leaves removed). I have a going on 3rd summer super dwarf cavendish that may flower at some point. That is still going strong, although i cut a few of the lower leaves off. The basjoos are sleeping in the basement.

My neighbor cut down a huge source of shade, so now i have a huge sunny all day growing spot :) That is where all my bananas will go. I'm putting them all in one location. Should look pretty cool by late July or so. It'll total around 15 bananas, plus a number of pups.
