View Full Version : Hi, just signed up
Hello from zone 6a . I just joined after doing a search for Musa siam ruby. I currently have 2 basjoo pups about 3-4' in the ground as well as an orinoco and brazilian just purchased 4" to overwinter in pots. I have successfully overwintered basjoo before only to lose them the next year probably do to drainage. I have also begun collecting small hardy palms which I will at first try to overwinter in cold frames and then on to a more traditional wrap up until the day comes when I'm feeling lucky enough to let them go............Bob:goteam:

Bob- I also do hardy palms. I have 2 t. fortunei that are about a foot tall, and 2 that are around 4 ft. I also have s. minor, s. texana and a 3 ft. wooly pindo (eriospatha). All are wintered outside. The small ones are buried in straw mulch and the larger have straw mulch at the base and burlap wrap with a plastic bag overcover.
