My colocasia illustris, shot out a pup that has a wierd coloration. I just thought that it was just while it was young it looked like that. So after it got older the coloration never went away. Then it shot out two or three new plants and they have the same coloration. Any one know what is wrong with this thing? I have a pic of ti in my gallery. ( the only pic lol)

I saw your pic and don't really know what is up with it, but whatever it is, I like it. Doesn't even look like your regular Illustris. If you ever want to trade one of the pups off, let me know as I would love to see what it would do in my garden...

Ok I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks

That's actually normal. All of the two-toned colocasias will have variations in patterns from time to time, even one that is more "standardized" like Illustris.

I have even had Xanthosoma Lime Zingers that throw out leaves with gark forest green patches sometimes. Its unstable, and comes and goes.

Aroids are among the most variable plants in the world, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this one reverting or mutating to a varigated example... Nothing wrong with it at all, it's just doing what it would do normally in nature anyhoo.
