hello i live in wisconsin and i have a musa Basjoo. it p-stem is about 3 feet high. during winter I have no room to keep it as a house plant and it can get down to nagative 30 degrees sometimes. I herd on the internet that you can dig it up and cut of all the leaves and put it in the basement. my goal is is to get it to flower some day and I was gust wondering how to care for it in the basement.

Flytrap,
First off, welcome to the forum. There is a lot of great information throughout this board and with a little digging you can find out anything you need to know. As far as overwintering bananas in your basement, here is a link to an awesome thread creating by one of our leading experts on the subject. I trust you will find this very helpful.
Best of luck,
