My name is Ray. I just got into the whole banana craze because I went to Maui and fell in love with the tropical forests. So now I'm trying to create a subtropical garden here in Los Angeles (container gardening since when I move in the next 2 years or so I need to take everything with me).
So anyway just saying hello! And one more thing I wanted to message a member to ask him where he got his plants but I don't have permission to! So either my account is not activated (in which case how long do I wait before my account is activated) OR I just can't send PM's period.
Any thoughts??
Thanks!

Hey Ray, welcome to the forum.:waving: You should have great luck growing in the Los Angeles area.
As far as sending PM I believe there is a short probationary period, so hang in there.

In Los Angeles? Don't miss the Festival of Fruit (http://www.festivaloffruit.org/) coming up this September 19-20 at CSU Fullerton. You'll find plenty of what you desire there!

Thanks! I have one of those giant redissh ones I got at Home Depot it says v. ensente I beleive not sure. I also got a small Basjoo, orinoco, and a 'red dwarf'. And I also got two Traveler's Palms. I think I will stop at those for now since I do not have much space and they seem to grow fast.
One thing that I have been researching now for a few weeks is the Ae Ae....hard plant to come by no? I wonder if ebay sellers are trust worthy???
