I received a plant start from another vendor at the farmers market. She said her relatives in Arkansas grow this, it has leaves like a morning glory, flowers like a morning glory (purple), but it grows like a bush. They gave me a start of it, they said they overwinter it as cuttings in a glass of water, then plant them in the spring.
Any infor you can give me on this would be appreciated. It does seem to grow kind of like a brugmansia.

I don't know. but I'll do a search on that name and see if it looks like it.
All I've heard it called-by them-is morning glory bush. I figured most likely someone further down south would have heard of it. They said their relatives in Arkansas got it when they lived in Texas about 10 years ago. They gave a start to my friends at the market, and they gave it to me.

Here in San Diego, the plant nurseries sell as Morning Glory Bush is usually Ipomoea carnea, of which there are several cultivars and subspecies.
For a list of these and other Ipomoea species, see Species in GRIN for genus Ipomoea (http://www.ars-grin.gov/cgi-bin/npgs/html/splist.pl?6064)
