Sorry for the bad picks only had my cell phone by i just noticed this Weird hard shell like growth around one of my banana trees any ideas????

Ps tree is in great health and nothing on tree itself

I think those are Birds Nest fungi .I have some really cool ones in my garden where I buried an Ensete superbum bunch /p-stem .
They remind me of corals ....lol

Notice the 'birds eggs ' in them ?

Thats what they are! Birds Nest fungi i didnt know what the ....I was looking at very alien like was scared for my plant!

LOL.... I know right ? They are crazy lil' invaders but really neat imo. I took a lot of pics of several types that I've found including the ones in my garden . I'll post them to this thread when I get my new computer .
There's probably a pocket of mulch, rotted tree roots , or something along that line under there.

I have this come up all in my mulch when it's been rainy. I think they are also called Artillery Fugus because they will shoot their spores out. Look for little black dots on the undersides of you plant leaves and on the side of you house. They can be a big problem getting on you house if you have a light-colored siding or paint where they show up badly. Shouldn't harm your bananas, though.
