I purchased one from Going Bananas in March. They had a booth at the Leu Gardens plant sale. I also saw several plants at the Bamboo and Coastal Gardens in Savannah, GA. These plants are very large, close to the size of Saba! I haven't planted mine out yet. It's still in the pot. Took forever for it to start growing again after the cool May we had.

Pretty cool.
If you ever have pups or seeds (will it seed?), lmk!

It will not seed, as it is a parthenocarpic variety, and not a species. Also, I have seen it spelled various ways, but I think the most popular and recognized way is "Kandrian." At least that's how Going Bananas and a few other places have it listed.

I won't have pups until at least next summer. If you're still interested then, remind me.

Frank, Jarred

How did these do overwintering?

Mine was one of the few varieties other than Orinoco to keep the pseudostem intact during storage and not have the meristem rot out. It didn't grow very well last year, probably because of the bad spot I had it planted in, and it still hasn't produced the first pup.

Jarred, the MGIS database also lists this naner as Kandrian. Their listing is quite impressive: 17 feet tall on average, 9 inch fruits with orange flesh, type ABB, and from the photo: a big load of fruit!

I just bought a Kendarian from Pitangdiego just a month ago thinking that it is one of the the fastest growing bananas to bloom as suggested by one of the members. Something like 8 months from pup. Thanks Harvey for picking them up for me.
There is no way it will bloom in 8 months if it will grow 17 feet first. Oh, I got me a Philippine Lacatan too and Joe Real gave me an Enano Gigante.
