it started a sad life wilting and i thought that was it, but its happy now, and been growing lots! it also has put out 2 pups and i see another tiny pup.

my q1 is do i let these pups keep growing before cutting them off?

q2. it is in a shelterd spot mostly semi-shady but doing ok do u think i should move it when splitting my pups?

I would let them get bigger before seperating them. Maybe 2-3 foot tall.

I would move it, because you can damage the roots.
The pups should be grow up to half a meter before separating them. They will be stronger an grow faster.

First of all Parkeey, why do you want to separate the pups from the mother? If you are tight on space, I would move the whole bunch before even thinking about separating them. If you are not, I wouldn't separate them at all. Too many folks think they have to separate the pups and move them to get a nice mat. Let me be the one to tell you, you will get a much larger and healthier mat a lot quicker if you leave them to grow on their own.
If they are in a semi shaded spot, I would move them to a more sunnier location and water them like there is no tomorrow. Within no time, you will have a large mat, (like at least 100 sq.ft. within a couple of years, depending on where you are located and how much you water and fert them.) Best of luck in whatever you decide....

take it from a newbie here....basjoos pup like crazy! wait til they get at least 1-2 ft tall( if there is no perticular reason to move them.) i have one growing in afternoon shade. its just growing a little slower then the rest of my basjoos. but on the flip side she has 7 pups on her. look at randys gallery and see what his have done in, what is it 3 yrs?

In three years, they will look like this. This mat started with three tissue cultured plants no higher than 8 inches! You may even get bananas if you have patience!
