Hi
Can any one tell me do the Bananas look right as I thought that the Bananas grow all around the stem, also what happens to the mother plant once the Bananas are taken off.

I can't say about the bunching of the fruit, But once the mother bears fruit, it won't have anymore. You should cut it back and let the pups take its place. But I'm still learning so lets get a second opinion. And congrats on the bloom and fruit..

Gorge they look fine to me they will fill in more as the fruit gets riper and yes ones moma is done whith her task she needs to be cut down that way the last of her energy will go in to making pups its best to only leave 2 pups atached the rest sould be separated that way you will get fruite every year you can then replant the separtated pups or you could sell them or do what i do and just give them away

Don''t cut the P-stem all the way to the ground but leave some on top so the pups can get the nutrients from their mother still.

I cut mine as close to the ground as possible and then break off pups with large chunks of the old corm attached as they grow. It's easy to dig straight down into the top of the corm and snap them off. This way you can eventually be rid of the mother corm, get loads of healthy pups, and have more room for new plants. You can also just remove the entire corm after cutting the plant down if you want.
