Awesome bananas, Taylor!!! I can't get over how short the CA Gold banana is. This must be a short banana--looks to be about 6 ft. It would probably be an easy one to dig up and store for the winter.

Taylor, what are you going to do with the C.Gold fruit? Are you going to bring it in and try to ripen them when it gets too cold?

Taylor

I think they will ripen before our first frost.

3-4 months from now is Oct-Nov ~15...and our average first frost is Nov 17th. Last year our first frost was in December though.

Wow Taylor, some cool banana's you have their, and what a collection you're getting! They grow real fast as well in your climate, and I also look forward to seeing pics of the Ornata bloom! Keep up the good work.

Thanks, take care

Taylor I love your yard!!
I would like to see how your Cali Gold is progressing!
Looking at these photos I see you have 1 of Jarred's Balbisiana!
I have 2 of his also. Here they are......................................

I put this one in the ground a couple of weeks ago. Poor baby started to get
sunburned; so I put a childs wooden chair over it for some protection. It got
acclimated to the sun faster than I thought it would! Less than 1 & half weeks!! FORREAL!!

These plants are rapidly becoming a favorite of mine too. They are just nice, and don't cause
any type of problems even if I don't water them for a while. Iam talking 2,3,4 days in this heat!! They just stay pretty and keep growing. The one in the pot will stay in there till next spring.
The one inground will of course be dug up by frost.
I need to see and evaluate the different effects and growing conditions to find the best way for me to grow them here in z6.
My ultimate goal is to have Fruiting banana plants on my mini plantation.
Actually,,,, my goal is to have a banana plantation and be known as the
