Bring out yer dead!

Lost one of my big namwas which I was expecting to fruit this year. Broke near the mid point of the pstem and fell across the fence into the neighbor's yard. Severed the remaining bits slightly below the break and pulled the top part back into my yard and chopped up for mulch.

Pstem was about 9'-10'. I don't believe I cut into a flower so what's the chances this thing puts out eight leaves and I get a flower this year???

All my plants are showing minor damage (snapped/broken cigar/fresh leaves) and all the leaves are shredded.

Anybody else on the Gulf Coast get any damage?

So I looked at my plants when I got home.. a few broken leaves,stems.. all leaves shredded. The Raja Puri, and the Mysore you gave me blew over, but I think they will recover.. their root ball was still small. As far as your broken Namwah, the one my dogs broke has put out a leaf/week and started pushing a pencil within 20 minutes.. just as I see yours is doing. The only thing I noticed after the break, was it had 2 pups peeking at the time it was damaged.. and those 2 pups shriveled and died. It now has 2 vigorous pups, and 5 or 6 leaves on the mother. I think yours will be fine.

heres my broken plant today, about 5 weeks later

I think you will still get a bunch from that one. Just rained like heck here but no damage

It hurts to look at those, oh man. Much as I LOVE storms....there's always that "little" issue of potentional damage. Awesome though how resilient musa are, hopefully they will be okay :)
