I had previously thought that my Ice Cream was doing well this winter until it stopped growing completely. Upon investigation I found the center shoot completely rotted almost all the way to the bottom of the 6 foot pseudo stem! I was planning to remove it completely and re-plant something else seeing how I'm not real excited about the texture of the fruits, but then it started growing again and I'm really curious to see what happens so I'm going to leave it be.

And here are couple Cambodians that had some trouble but pushed the rotted leaves either out the or top or out the side. All of these plants are planted in the same area and it seems to get a lot of sitting water during heavy rains so I'm thinking that's the problem.

I get that every once in a while with bananas stored under the house. I just cut down until I find some green in the middle. Still, sometimes there has been rot underneath that green, and it will pop out the side of the pseudostem.

I have an Orinoco that did the same thing. It's trying very hard to push a leaf out.
