I have a dwarf cavendish that has 3 pups around the corm. Two about a foot and one about a foot and a half. I trimmed them down to minimal foliage with the two one footers as cigars as this forum suggested.

They are in pots and I have kept indoors under LED light to not shock them. How else do you suggest additional handling? Light, watering, when to repot, etc.

I’ve also heard to expect some wilting on the foliage left on the plants. Just curious what to expect. Thanks!

To be clear I broke off the three pups and put in new pots apart from the main corm.

Welcome to the Bunch. .... Where are you located? This help a little with what directions are given. ... It would have been a lot better if the pups had been left on the Mother corm until about 4 or 5 foot tall. She would have taken al ot better care of her babies.

Now potted pups ... pot in a very fast draining soil (pour in top; 5 or 10 sec. out the bottom) and a pot with bottom drain holes. Get a moisture meter and water only when the soil in the middle & bottom of the pot is near dry. A Tablespoon of general fertilize will be good for 3 or 4 months. .... Mist the plants a couple of times per day if kept in the house. Mist with fertilizer (foliar feed) about every 14 days with Miracle grow per directions for potted plants. ... Keep warm and in bright sun light no direct sun.

I am in Louisville KY- would you recommend keeping them inside while they situate to transplant for the foreseeable future? It is a bummer I jumped the gun and split them, but felt they were starting to crunch each other out. The main corm and 3 pups stuffed into a 2.5 gallon pot was worrying me!

So with this pup transplants the key is to keep them more dry than usual with most banana plants? From what I have read on here, they thrive on neglect, but also require a lot of water.

I used N-EXT products floragreen and RGS with JOBE citrus fertilizer and have a moisture meter.

Frankly one of the pups (the biggest, about 1.5 feet) is looking rather blahhh with the split but the two mini's I made cigars and main corm look fine. For morbid sake, at what point do you know the pups bit the dust? From what I read on here they may initially look sickly and turn out fine.

Additionally, the main corm I kept in a 2.5 gallon container, the 1.5ft pup I put in a 2.5 gallon container, then the tiny foot sized pups I put in little half gallon containers until they show life for a month or so.
