Hello all, I’ll e growing these trees. I started with two and now have 12 just by splitting them. I do however have a first? I covered and wrapped my plants over the winter. I just unwrapped them and noticed the one big plant had what looked like mini bananas on it. Now I don’t know if that one tree is still alive. See the picture and let me know what you think.

Looks like that stock had a flower, and you cut it off. That stock is dead.

It was weird that it would in the winter. Never knew it happened till I saw it when I opened it. Never had it happen since I’ve been growing these. Wish I would have seen the flower. Maybe next time.

So am I being to optimistic to think this big guy is gone then?

time will tell. leave it may throw out some pups, or it may come back if it was not a flower.

I don’t know if it flowered or not. Those mini looking bananas were there when I uncovered from the winter. Guess time will tell.

I can't see what was cut off. If it was a bloom then that pstem is done for. But leave it as-is for now. The sap will drain back feeding the corm and any pups. ... You should see a couple of pups growing soon.
