So i just moved. I had banana plants in the ground, and would leave them all yr. They have already had first frost, and i just cut them down and dug them up. Can i still overwinter them even tho the first frost got them?
I had to dig them up to take them with me to my new place, but now dont know what to do. Zone 7b. Thanks
They should be OK, the frost killed the P-Stem but the corm will be good.

clean dirt off pstem and keep dry in cool (but no freezing) place - garage, crawl space, basement. SOme dirt can be left on if desired - we do for half of what we store - trying to compare if any difference), but important to keep dry. Our trial is really to see if there is any difference - we do not think there will be, and much easier to handle without dirt. If plants are small, or pups,(like less than 3 feet) we leave in pots as corm can dry out too much.

What kind are they?
Many plants in your zone are able to be left in the ground.
And in subsequent years can be left in the ground and produce plants

Oops ....misread your post.
Hold in a coolplace till safe to plant in early spring..
Once in cool storage your plants will go dormant.
I know late post....sorry:woohoonaner:
