The tissue cultured bananas that are sold as Ice Cream are actually Namwa. If you want a real Blue Java you will have to obtain it locally. Since you are in Florida that should be easy.

I heard that alot, just wanna label this one correctly when I replant the pups in my food forest. It was sold to me as a Pup (was 3ft tall sword pup). I don't need the blue java, just bugs me not knowing for sure what something is.

When I saw the fruits I thought, “sweetheart”

Probably isn’t but when I saw the fruits I thought, “sweetheart” probably isn’t tho
" crown " is about 6.5ft. so would have to be a dwarf variety right? not sure if sweetheart has been dwarfed ever? I do have sweetheart pups from a mature clump of a friend and they were over 10ft. at fruiting

I've been removing and potting up the pups from this area because it floods to much in summer (almost lost these this past season). I'm moving them to a better area but was hoping to know exactly what I got here before I do so. I have a few varieties to choose from for the remaining spots in the food forest expansion. The leftover varieties will be going to the fence line.
Thanks for all the help already

Thankyou for the knowledge shared, can't wait to taste them.
Now I gotta figure out what the pups I got from a friend as "sweethearts" really are because they are much skinnier and taller then the fhia-03 specs... lol

So were ALL of my bananas (i've had the home depot dwarf cavendish for like 4 years now and still never tasted the fruits. almost did a couple years ago but frost got them)
Until I started caring for them properly that is, now they are all growing faster and fruits are filling faster. crazy what a little love can do...
I do a deep mulch system with compost, compost tea spray, well water irrigation during dry spells and proper thinning of the mats removing water suckers.

dwarf cavendish and gran nain are my porest growers. partially because I live on a sand hill and I am to well draining which makes me to high in acidity and the draughts we have ….well. I got a couple of the dwarf cavendish that grew so slowly the winters killed them. still have one mat of gran nain that's 3 years old and they are 1 ft. tall. some places around here they do well, most places they do poorly.
what gets me is that is what all the nurseries sell around florida when there are many varieties that out perform them. guess they like to sell them cause they pup so well.

Filling out, can't wait to taste them.. if good i'll be planting a pup in another location also, if not the greatest it'll just be the single small mat left where it is now.

Couldn't really say, I live a lifestyle that forbids the eating of women. I won't judge your life choices if you don't judge mine....

The auto-spell correct changed it. I've had that to happen a few times. ... Anyway when I kissed my wife she sometimes tasted like strawberries; sometimes peaches.;butnot ice-cream bananas. I have been accursed of trying to eat her face off once. hahaha ... good times past.

I was trying to figure out what the women was an autocorrect from, but didn't think of lemon. i'll be eating more soon and will try a few different levels of ripeness to see how its best to me anyway.

I suspect it was lemon ';emon'. It looked ok to you at the time, but autocorrect changed it to women.
Anyway I seen this happen serveral times with my post and had to re-edit.
