I am in North Carolina zone 7. My dwarf cavendish winter in a heated greenhouse. When is it safe to divide them? The one has twin blooms so I know I have to wait to divide that one. One has fruit that I hope to harvest in mid-October.
The 3rd one is very over crowded and needs to be soaked with water every day. So is it OK to divide now or should I wait until it produces? I have asked on another thread but no one has replied. Here is the other thread:

The experts should reply to this, but since they haven’t, I will add my 1 cent. (Or maybe 2) I think 🤔 it’s okey as long as there is no fruit on the plant...... I think. Before you do anything, wait till the experts come and tell you the correct thing to do. :woohoonaner: :08: :ha: :0517:

I'm not an expert, but I would separate the 3rd one (I even separate when they have fruit)
I'm guessing they are in pots? If so you shouldn't have a problem with the plant getting weak (falling over because you removed the pups) I never had a problem with the pots but did a little with the ones in the ground.
I've had to support one plant this year because I removed 3 or four large ones, that's why it's better to take them off before they get big.
other people have their ideas as well. :)

This is the end of season..
Know your zone.
Cut ,split, divide , repot ,now
Do what you can
The plants will sort themselves out ....
And ....the previous posters have years of expierience.
Like myself....they grow plants

Yes they are in pots, 25 to 30 gallon pots. We will have to cut the pots off. It is next to impossible extra large pots.
Thanks for the replies.

Bonnie,
I’m sorry I didn’t replied to you earlier!....I have been very busy at work lately!....As Sara mentioned, separate the third one now!....Don’t touch the other two that they are blooming now!...
Mike (cincinnana) is a master growing Nanas in pots for years!...Follow his suggestions, advices!....He has a lot of experience!....He is an awesome fellow Nana grower!...
