i removed a root in the spring and the tree responded fairly well to it so when the soil washed away and revealed another big girdling root i decided to film the process (or at least a before and after)

i did prune the top of the tree as well
so far so good
Are wrap-around roots a habit of this species?

could be... i am just guessing though
a google search showed someone else pruning a girdling root as well
and i saw another image of a large girdling root as i scrolled down
basically i dont know what i am doing
rhetorical question?
thanks to that search i know there are different varieties of jaboticaba
now i will have to figure out which one i have
