Hi all,
I live in South Australia. We are allowed to grow bananas in this part of Australia and I have been able to purchase a few abyssinian seeds locally, however I am unable to find any variety or numbers. I have attempted to purchase seeds from America however customs refused delivery.
Does any one know where I can purchase banana seeds in Australia. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
Kind regards
Mark

Please look the website of the Australian Bananas Growers. That may be helpful.

Hi Mark
First of all "wish I was there". I've been to Australia, it's a beautiful country.
I know your customs is extremely strict when it comes to what enters and
exits your country in regards to plants and animals. Fell free to drop me an
email at wolfecbr@mail.ocis.net . Let me know what your interested in
getting and I'll see what I can do. If you email me please put the word
Australia as the subject of the email. I get tons of junk mail and everone
I correspond with in Australia does this so I do not delete them by mistake.

Hi Mark,
I'm afraid Australia had the strictliest custom and seeds of any species of ornamental banana plants and heliconias will not be allowed to import into Australia.

I suggest you move to live in New Zealand as NZ customs are much less strict. I have 12 species of ornamental banana plants.

Otherwise you have to write the false names for seeds of banana plants, etc you ask the seeds supplier to write the label "musa ornata" for package of seeds of musa siamensis, OR "musa coccinea" for seeds of musa violascens.

Give it a try.

Yours Sincerely

Clinton Care. :08:
