The mother plant died completely and pups were popping out like crazy! Now they're not in such good shape. Why?

Please show a full picture of the pot. ... I suspect you have a water logged pot (soggy soil in the bottom) causing root rot. The plant needs to be reported into a a draining pot with a saucer. Use a potting mix & perlite at 50/50 mix for container bananas. ... But for now, clean the corm of any rot & black roots. Repot into course 'builder's sand' or pool filter sand.

There has been some shock/stress. If next leaves are normal, not to worry. The leaves represent conditions a week or two or three ago, not the current situation. If next leaves are normal, the issue has been resolved.

Plants will do that when separated and the roots are disturbed.
They will take weeks to sort themselves out.

And you still need to get them in full sunlight.:)
Windowsill light is not enough or they will soon look like the mother plant.:(
